About this report
Who publishes it, why, and what our interest in it is.
The publisher
The UK Indian Birth Registry Report is published by Homeberry AI Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16797161, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The company trades under the consumer brand Sorted. You can verify the company on the Companies House register.
Sorted is a private document-preparation service. It is not affiliated with the Government of India, the High Commission of India, HM Government, or VFS Global. The word “Registry” in the title of this report describes what the report is — a register of measurements as they accrue — and not any official function. Nothing published here is an official statement by any authority.
Our interest, stated plainly
We sell a service: we prepare Indian consular applications for families in the UK, for a fee. The timings in this report are built from those applications as they complete, and we hope people who read it come to us. That is a commercial interest and you should weigh it.
What that interest cannot do is make the numbers better than they are — and the structure of the report is designed so that it cannot. Once a row publishes, its median is computed from the completed applications behind it and never typed in by hand. The sample size is printed beside every figure. Any value we have not verified against its official source is shown as unpublished rather than filled in. The underlying file is public and shows the date it was last written, so anyone can check what was published when. A report that flattered us would be worth nothing to anybody, including us.
What the report contains
- A reference layer — consular and VFS fees, the UK VFS centre directory with the consular jurisdiction each centre falls under, and the photo specifications each government portal publishes, where we have confirmed it against the portal. Dated, sourced, and free to use.
- A timings layer — median and 90th-percentile elapsed days per service and per centre, from completed applications, over a rolling 90-day window, with the sample size beside every figure and a minimum of five applications before anything publishes.
The full method, including how anonymisation is enforced and where the figures should not be trusted, is set out in the methodology.
The service behind it
If you want the applications handled rather than just measured, that is what the company does: homeberry.ai. Birth registration, children’s passports, renewals, OCI cards, visas, surrender certificates, PAN cards and police clearance certificates — the services listed at homeberry.ai — prepared and checked before submission.
